AMAZON DIARIES: ''Addition''

Episode reference?

Panel 7, the last one on page 2 is almost copied off a front close-up from 'Big Bother'. It's from where Monty looks down at Hana. It's against my rules to trace, and I didn't. But it was precisely what I pictured in my mind when creating the scene, so I couldn't do it any other way. However, I made Monty's sideburns stick more out, like they do in some front views, and his expression is a tad more different.

:iconvampirenaomi: pointed out a certain likeness with the style and spirit of the doc soap opera "Meerkat Manor". I have to agree. :P Also, the name ''Kooky'' is from the show, or at least it was the name of one of the meerkats in the research area. I thought it sounded ''monkey-ish''. Ah, the influence. XD
The ''narrator role'' fits Monty, as he has top knowledge and a clear voice. Besides, Tom Kane, who voices Monty, has done many a marvellous narration job. <3

I am absolutely stunned. I thought that comic couldn't possibly look much better than it did in the sketch form because that was already brilliant, but this? This is so AMAZING that I don't know where to begin.

The colouring job is just wonderfully done. What methods did you use? The texture looks like it was coloured by hand, but the colours you've used are a little obscure. Did you do it by hand or digitally? Whichever it is, you certainly brought the comic to life. The dark and green rainforest looks deep and alive here, and the shadows on the characters bring out their features and expressions. I'm particularly impressed by the sky. It looks like it's straight from the TV series.

Honestly, you have outdone yourself with this. Your comic is so good that it should be published as an official comic!

And you're stunning ME with your comments.
Remember the ''Sewer Sausage''-comic? I coloured it digitally in Paintshop, and then printed it out, re-inked a few missing details and scanned it again. The re-scanned prints create a more harmonic, " professional " touch to the comic pages, with the grainy paper texture shining through the colours. The colouring also becomes a tad more dimmed, and even smoother.
As for the sky- I did use reference screenshots, from 'Gorilla Fist'.
:iconvampirenaomi:
Oh, right! I had already forgotten about that technique. I think the quality really shines here in these comics and gives the pages a nice, professional look.

oh, that answers my earlier question about coloring.

How was the lettering done? It looks hand done.

The lettering is hand done, yes (in my crappy way). Probably what makes this comic looking less professional. XD
